The Prosecuting Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer of the County and is charged with the duty to see that the laws are faithfully executed and enforced to maintain the rule of law.  An elected official with a four-year term of office, the Prosecuting Attorney is independent of the Michigan Attorney General. The Prosecuting Attorney's office performs a wide array of legal duties.

Macomb County’s Prosecutor has several special units including CONSUMER PROTECTION and INTERNET and IDENTITY THEFT.

The William Booth Legal Aid Clinic addresses the legal needs of the population who live at or below the national poverty level guidelines in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties.  The clinic exists to address legal problems and provide high quality legal services at no cost to those in need. The clinic services individuals, families, U.S. Military Veterans, in need and educates clients with regard to their legal rights and obligations while seeking to eliminate legal problems as obstacles that may prevent them from reaching their full potential.
